Follow Up to (Non) Muslims Against Sharia

A quick follow up to our expose of the non-Muslims running “Muslims Against Sharia”, which has received a phenomenal amount of coverage and almost as much hate mail from the people over at MAS (who cannot seem to send a single comment without obscenities and who seem to know almost nothing  about Islam):

Considering MAS's constant request for "donations":

The State of Nebraska has no record of MAS having any sort of business license, which is required in order to solicit donations to their Neb PO Box. The State of Nebraska requires anyone soliciting funds to be registered and licensed with the State.

Guidestar, a national listing site of non-profits, shows no results for “Muslims Against Sharia.”

The West Omaha branch of the U.S. Postal Service, at 8451 W. Center Rd, in Omaha, NE 68124-3135, confirmed that PO Box 241732 is rented in the name of Muslims Against Sharia, in reviewing the rental application, it was found that MAS listed themselves as a Nebraska corporation with a business license.  The USPS was informed that MAS has no business license, and is not incorporated in NE.  An investigation will ensue. Listing fraudulent information on a USPS PO Box application is a violation of 18 US Code, Section 1001 and of 18 US Code Section 1708.

Some fellow hate mongers, primarily White Supremacists, claim that MASh doesn't need a business license unless they are selling a service or product. Even though the State of Nebraska and the IRS disagree with this claim, it could be pointed out that on MAS's "Support" page, where they appeal for funds, they claim that the funds are for their service of helping "Moderate Muslims fight Islamofascists!"

Joe Kaufman had previously been identified by multiple sources as part of MASh.

Joe Kaufman was offered the opportunity to disavow his affiliation with or participation in MASh when I sent him a very polite email offering him the opportunity to do so. I promised him that if he wished to make such a statement, I would include it in all of the MAS articles on the Chasing Evil site.  

Mr. Kaufman did respond and stated: “I have never had anything to do with that organization.”  (emphasis mine) Mr. Kaufman’s statement should be kept in mind when reading articles about his affiliation with Muslims Against Sharia.
