Another Fake?
Daniel Shayesteh is the latest "reformed terrorist" being touted at "show and tell" sessions at fundamentalist Dominionist churches. Let's take a look at Dr. Shayesteh... (my comments in bold.)
Dr. Daniel Shayesteh’s bio began as the following:
Dr. Daniel Shayesteh’s bio began as the following:
Description PART 1. Dr Daniel Shayesteh is an Iranian immigrant who arrived in Australia with his family in November 1991. Daniel is married to Mary and they have three daughters. He is Director of the organisation "Exodus from Darkness" and a National Evangelist for the Christian and Missionary Alliance of Australia. His ministry is based out of Hills Alliance Church (Baulkham Hills, Sydney) and the Iranian Alliance Church of Sydney (Auburn). He is also a part time lecturer in International Business at the University of Technology Sydney. Daniel was deeply involved in the Iranian Fundamentalist Revolution (1979) as a leading Muslim political leader and teacher of Islam. He speaks three middle-eastern languages (Farsi, Turkish and Azerbaijani) and is an accomplished poet and classical middle-eastern musician. He was saved wonderfully through Christ, when he escaped to Turkey after falling out of favour with Khomeini's political group. On his arrival in Australia Daniel sought fellowship with Christians from Islamic backgrounds. In 1994 he commenced studies at Morling Bible College and completed the Diploma of Theology and Pastoral Ministry. He also has a PhD in International Business that he completed in Turkey. Dr Shayesteh's message and testimony clearly highlights the uniqueness of Jesus Christ. He will explain why he believes the God of Christianity is different to the gods worshipped by the other great religions of the world. Dr Shayesteh aims to provide insight into his former beliefs and worldview, and the transformation that has taken place since his conversion. So dramatic was his conversion that he says that unless he had found Jesus he might not be alive today. He will explain the uniqueness of Jesus, not one amongst many, but the only one who can point His followers to THE way, THE truth and eternal life.

In Escape from Darkness (sic) a former radical Muslim reveals the foundation of modern Islamic beliefs and actions. Though hated by radical Muslims, Dr. Shayesteh travels wherever possible to provide insight into the teachings of the Quran. Dr. Shayesteh helps Christians understand how to effectively evangelize those still trapped in the traditions and deceptions of Islam. Speaking as one who formerly trained Muslims in the strategies of Islamic Jihad, Shayesteh also addresses the alarming social implications of the growth of Islam in western nations today.

Like many in the world, Daniel Shayesteh closely watched this week’s U.S. visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
But his is a different vantage point.
Three decades ago, the Iranian-born Shayesteh, 53, joined forces with those supporting Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeni to topple the Shah of Iran and install Islamic rule. “Generally speaking, my background is radical Islam,” he says.
No more. After fleeing Iran because of a falling-out with the religious regime, Shayesteh says he underwent a conversion to Christianity.
He now travels internationally to raise awareness about what he calls “the dangers of Islam,” and he puts Ahmadinejad squarely in that category.
“He is just a liar. Unfortunately, lying in Islam is accepted for the sake of (advancing the) religion,” Shayesteh says.
“He is a dictator and has the mind of a suicide bomber, really. He is the servant of the Supreme Leader in Iran (Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei) and does what he says.”
Shayesteh, who will visit Fort Wayne on Oct. 27 at the invitation of Praise Lutheran Church, believes people in Western, Judeo-Christian cultures must become aware of radical Islam’s tenets and plans so they can protect their societies.
He calls Islam “a very hierarchical system of belief” that has no room for personal freedom or democratic values. These views, he says, have earned him death threats from the religion’s radical elements.
Freedom, especially religious freedom, “is the target of Islam,” he says.
“When you read the Quran, it says that you must destroy other religions, Jews and Christians. … You cannot expect them to value your values.”
Shayesteh says he became a Christian after a painful period in his life.
As a child raised in a strict Islamic home, he had memorized the entire Quran in Arabic by age 9. As a young man, he was a member of Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Army. He was a government official for a time under Khomeni.
So, we have a person who went from being just an immigrant to Turkey, then Australia, to being a former member of Hezbollah (an outlawed terrorist organization) and the “Iranian Revolutionary Army”. I put that last in quotes because there is no such entity.
In his biographies (above) he went from being:
Daniel was deeply involved in the Iranian Fundamentalist Revolution (1979) as a leading Muslim political leader and teacher of Islam
To being:
...one who formerly trained Muslims in the strategies of Islamic Jihad
To being:
...a member of Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Army. He was a government official for a time under Khomeni.
Aside from the inflated biography, a few problems have been overlooked. A current or former member of any terrorist organization is not allowed to enter the USA. A current or former member of any terrorist organization is not allowed on a plane in Australia or the USA. So how did Daniel Shayesteh get to the USA? Did he swim? We discussed this same issue with Walid Shoebat, a “former suicide bomber” who has since been completely exposed as a fake, and who has admitted he is and has been a Christian Dominionist, telling lies about Islam in an effort to promote a Christian theocracy in the USA. Do we have the same fakery with Shayesteh? Only time will tell.
Is the Christian & Missionary Alliance pulling our collective legs? Aren’t Christians supposed to be honest?
